BYK-306

BYK 306 is a silicone-containing surface additive that provides strong reduction of surface tension. As a result, it improves the wetting of critical substrates used in advanced material formulations. BYK 306, being a highly effective silicone additive, reduces air draft sensitivity and promotes the orientation of matting agents. It prevents cratering and increases surface slip. Some key benefits of using BYK 306 in advanced material coatings include excellent substrate wetting, reduced risk of Bénard cells formation, and improved leveling. BYK 306 is recommended for use at 0.1-0.5% based on total formulation and can be incorporated during any stage of production process. It has proven to successfully add at the end to avoid foam stabilization in certain systems.
