BYK-4500

BYK 4500 is a high performance adhesion promoter and additive suitable for aqueous and solvent-borne coating systems. BYK 4500 contains a block copolymer that improves adhesion, especially wet adhesion, on critical substrates used in advanced material applications. As an additive, BYK 4500 is attracted to coating interfaces and provides special basic adhesion groups that enhance bonding at a molecular level. This results in early water resistance and increased adhesion on aged coatings and metal substrates common to advanced manufacturing. BYK 4500 maintains hardness, flexibility and appearance of coatings without negative effects. It is stable at high baking temperatures and does not cause yellowing. As a silicone-free adhesion promoter, BYK 4500 is particularly suitable for demanding coating processes and substrate requirements within the advanced materials industry.
