BYK-300

BYK 300 is a silicone surface additive solution that provides medium reduction of surface tension and medium increase of surface slip in solvent-borne coating systems. As a polyether-modified polydimethylsiloxane solution, BYK 300 additive improves leveling, gloss and substrate wetting properties of coatings. It prevents the formation of Bénard cells during drying that can result in defects for applications in the Advanced Materials industry. BYK 300 also enhances anti-blocking performance, which is crucial for polymer films and composites used in Advanced Materials. The additive is compatible with most solvent-borne formulations and can be added during any stage of production at recommended levels of 0.1-0.3% based on the total formulation weight. Unlike silicone oils, BYK 300 incorporates easily and helps optimize surface properties without introducing foam or affecting recoatability of coated substrates important for various Advanced Materials applications.
